About PeriodTracker
PeriodTracker was built with one core belief: every person who menstruates deserves access to a secure, private, and scientifically grounded tool for understanding their body.
Our Mission
PeriodTracker is a menstrual health platform dedicated to helping people understand their cycles through evidence-based tracking, personalized predictions, and educational content.
We were founded by Lavanya Joshi after recognizing a gap in the market for a period tracking app that prioritized genuine data privacy over advertising revenue. PeriodTracker was designed from the ground up to be free, private, and free of data monetization.
Your menstrual health data is among the most sensitive personal information you can generate. We treat it accordingly. PeriodTracker encrypts your data and does not share, sell, or analyze it for advertising purposes.
Our Core Values
Privacy by Design
Data privacy is not an afterthought — it is built into every feature of PeriodTracker. We don't sell data. We don't monetize your health information.
Evidence-Based Content
All health information published by PeriodTracker is grounded in current medical research and reviewed against established clinical guidelines from organizations like ACOG, WHO, and NICE.
Inclusive & Accessible
Period health affects people of all backgrounds. We build PeriodTracker to be accessible — free to use, available on all devices, and inclusive of diverse cycle experiences.
Transparent & Honest
We are clear about what our predictions can and cannot do. Period tracking apps provide estimates, not certainties. We educate users to interpret their data with appropriate context.
Editorial Standards
All health content published by PeriodTracker follows strict editorial guidelines to ensure accuracy, balance, and relevance. Our writers and editors are guided by the following principles:
- •All factual claims are sourced from peer-reviewed research or established clinical guidelines
- •Medical information is reviewed against current ACOG, NHS, and WHO recommendations
- •Articles are updated when new research or guidelines change recommendations
- •We distinguish between established evidence and emerging or limited research
- •All content includes a medical disclaimer and encourages consultation with healthcare providers
